Cool dyno results for LS6 cam & LT headers

I figured I would throw this out there for all who are wondering what the LS6 cam and LT headers can expect in the real world.

Here are the mods to my 2002 Z-28:

LS6 intake (came this way from factory)
2002 ZO6 cam (208/214) + springs
Scorpion 1.7 roller rockers
SLP under drvie pulley
Pacesetter coated LTs + TSP catted Y
Magnoflow catback exhaust
3.23's from Factory
Yank 3200 converter
MTI lid + K&N filter.
Predator tune (off the shelf, nothing custom)

results were 372 RWHP. Pulled hard to 6200.

Actually picked up from 361 to 372 by adding predator tune. A/F ratio was 13.1 the whole way through.

Drives great, idles at 600. I think this is a good daily driver combination.

That seems about right, the LS6 in my 2001 Z-28 put down 373 to the wheels with Mac mids, catted Y, pulley, dual/dual cat back, ported TB, lid, 3000 stall, and 3.73's.

stock 243 heads and a Z06 cam plus a Fast intake would be a sick 400+ rwhp daily that would sound stock!

Thanks for posting the info. Good to see real world results from this combo. I take it this is with untouched stock 241 heads?

Yes these were untouched heads. I have read a lot on this site over the last year or two when I decided to mod and I must say, there is wealth of info here. But I was unable to find dyno results for the mods I was considering, so that's why I posted em. I hope this will help someone out who is doin their homework.

I am not sure what the car would run now. When I first got the car in 2002, I ran it with the lid and an SLP loudmouth and it ran 13.08 @ 108 with a 2.1 60' time.

It should run at least 12.99 now.

I put down 353hp/361tq with LS6 intake, ARH lt's and a tune. That's with stock cam and stock 241 heads. Can't wait to get a set of ported 243's w/ hollow stem valves and GMMP hot cam.

Nice numbers!

Is it just me, or is 13.1 a little too lean?

I've got stock 243's with the hollow/sodium filled stems. Pulls right to the redline! It would be an 11 second car if not for the 4L60E banging the limiter on the 2-3 shift every time.

Nice results - must be a pretty generous dyno though...most of us C5Z's are dynoing around 365 stock and that's with 243 heads and through a manual.

My point is that he does NOT have 243's plus his is auto so you would expect it to be less than a stock C5Z.

When the car was new, it weighed 3580 at the track scales with driver and went 108 mph. That takes around 300 or so at the wheels. So picking up 72 RWHP with a cam, headers, exhaust and converter is a lot, but that was the point of this post.

Yes its an auto, but it has a Yank 3200 converter, which is pretty efficient.

just did the z06 cam in my 6.0 today (headers only). I like it, it feels different then the edelbrock cam, powerband is smaller like 2000-5500, but idles smooth as butter , plus my power brakes work again. should be better on the nos with the wide 117 lsa. i think i may have lost some hp, but driveability is 100% better.
