which valve springs

i just ordered MTI C1 and now which valve springs should i go with?

is it a must to have tit. retainers??

Comp 918's are popular. I'm also running Comp ti retainers.

has anyone ever used scoggin dickeysvalve spring kit ? if so what do yall think about it? would that be good for my set up??

I used Comp 918's when I had that cam.
Tit Rets. would be nice, but not necessary.
Do get hardened pushrods though.

It's not a must, but it's strongly recommended. When you compare the two next to each other you'll see why.

Comp 921's. Drop in's. Might look into these once my 918 have enough miles, or shall I say qtr mi passes on them...

I'm using 918's and the "772" Ti retainers with a C1. 10K on the springs and so far, so good. I also am using the hardened pushrods.

The Crane duals are a drop in spring, no machining.

I'd say no matter what, go with a dual spring and stay away from the singles. There's another post befoer this one where a guy used those Comp 918's and the spring broke, wreaking havoc in the engine. With a dual spring you're almost always gonna have one spring to keep the valve up and save the motor from serious damage if you have a spring break. Plus, the duals have better harmonics for sustained RPM's and longevity.

There will be a couple of new valve springs introduced for the LS1/LS6 applications at the PRI show in December. A drop-in 1.260" made from ultra clean chrome silicon. Also a 1.480" spring for the high lift stuff. These engines will also benefit from the restrictor pushrod which helps in maintaining proper valve pressure in the lifter and promotes higher rpm.
