do i know you? what does your car look like? and to the OP, keep us updated with what your found... i think I might have a bad wire as well....how do you check the ohms in the plug wires? ....sorry i dont know anything about electronics...

you set the multimeter to resistance (some require you to move the lead too) and stick the leads (both of them) into the ends of the spark plug wire. The multimeter should be set to 100 ohm or less (depends on your settings). Should read somewhere around 1-15 ohms. If it's the MSDs I think they read about 2 ohm per foot and figure the wire is about 8-10 inches long, that means about 1 1/2 ohms. Other brands have different ratings per foot. You need to research your specific brand.

my generic parts store replacement truck wires were about 13.5 ohms

I was just giving him a reference. On the volt meter prong you might have to wiggle it in the block end of the wire to make sure it gets contact...the boots are long so you might not get contact unless you do that

alot of us FI guys stick to the truck coils cuss they work... but we only play with the 800+hp range...

msd coils suck

get rid of those msd coils. if you want the most out of a coil buy brand new delco ones.
