Car randomly died doing 160+??
Was fine, probably around 60. It's like it just died idk what could have caused it except maybe a tuner issue?
-And seriously, I know it isn't wise I was testing the speed out with the new setup, if your going to come in here and say blah blah blah don't go so fast then don't bother. Seriously people.. cause EVERYONE on this forum drives at the speed limit and NEVER speeds. lol common guys.

If the battery was strong when you started the engine after you coasted to a stop..it wasn't a failed alternator, because the battery would keep you going until it died down pretty good. You surely wouldn't get a strong start after it stalled on battery power only.
Speed limiters don't shut engines off. Rev limiters don't either.
I think you got bit by the ole' mysterious PCM monster. PCM's do things like that, mine is different than most peoples PCM's...its like a one-off PCM. PCM's are NOT all the same.
And I do 170+ mph blasts about 5 times a week, been doing it for 7 years. Keep having fun, thats what the car is for. Just do it with no traffic around. If you're gonna die, die alone. If someone wants to go for a ride, its their *** and their choice.

.
If it was your fuel pressure you would have hammered your engine pretty bad because before it cut the engine off it would have gradually been running leaner and leaner till it couldn't feed the cylinders any more. You'd probably know it right now.

This may not sound like it makes sense, but I had the same thing happen to me. I wasn't going over 80, but I just got on the interstate and pulled hard until it just lost all power and then started right up and drove fine. Mine turned out to be the MAF. It started reading 0 air and quit because it didn't know how much air was coming in.

I just love the thread title!!!!!!! LOL
I think ANYTHING that happens at 170 is NOT random. LOL
But heres a question. Did the car die or the motor?
Basicly did all the gauges and electric cut off or did the motor just die?

Besides what the hell would Gm put the limiter at 160 for If we shouldnt be doing it. Just be safe. Too many "Internet daddys" on here.
The motor shut off, the radio and all lights and gauges stayed on. I had my fogs turned on, radio on, windows up, and ac was on but turns off at wot anyways like said before.
