Weird thing happened yesterday, never did this before and the only difference was the A/C was on.. I was with a friend in the car and went past the peg of 160, i'm thinking around 170 for how long it was rising. All a sudden the car just dies, and I rolled to a stop to start the car and everything was fine.. Any ideas what the hell happened or what the reason of it is? Thanks

Fuel cutoff could do that at that speed

 

SS's and WS6s have a speed limiter from the factory set at 160. You were banging up against it.

 

did you get the car tuned yet?

 

Im guessing you hit the top speed limiter?

 

Probably telling you to slow the **** down

 

sounds like speed limiter......if you are going to do **** like that you might want to get the limiter removed so you at least have power steering and brakes while going that speed

 

yeah not very bright doing that kinda speed with a passengers life in your hands let alone your own life...slow down before you quickly come to a end to your life..

 

Well I am not going to lecture you like everyone else on this board. However I would prob stick to doing that with just you in the car for future reference!

 

Yeah dude don't speed, nobody here goes past the posted speed limits, so you should probably just keep it quiet.

 

The speed limiter is off.. guess I should have mentioned that.

I thought my car silently blew up or something ahahaha, driving that fast with the cutout open then all a sudden u hear nothing its like...uhoh. I look down and im like wtf ahahahaha. We were just like well then..must be the air condition ahahaha

 

the air condition cuts off past 5500 RPM's so its not that. I found that one out on one of the dyno days here. It was hot as **** and the guy dynoning it put the AC on to back it in and forgot to turn it off. I was always told the AC gets shut off at 5500 but never saw it happen. I saw a jump in the HP/TQ curve- was kind of interesting.

About the car dying- you didn't throw a belt I take it. I have no idea, but like others said don't do it with someone else in the car.

 

If you can't go that fast in the 1/4 mile why go that fast at all?

Because some of us drive straights that are longer than 1/4 mile! (then we turn!!)
