Question mysterious ticking that magically went away?

today i changed my springs to the new crane duals, but since they were delayed my car sat without starting or running for just over two weeks. heres what happened

installed springs and retainers blah blah blah

first start the car, everything sounds fine, normal, etc. about 45-60 seconds after starting it, a strange ticking sound starts coming from the motor, i listen closer and it sounds like it may be coming from under the valve covers. shut the car off. pull the valve covers. everything looks normal. install valve cover and everything else. fire car, still ticking. well i grab a long *** wrench, stick it on the drivers side vavle cover and my ear, nothing, same for passenger. then i notice it sounds like it is coming from directly under the intake manifold.

than bam, ticking stops about 45-60 seconds after starting it. motor sounds completely normal (for a sewing machine anyways.) drove it around for like 30 minutes no problem, let is sit, drive it again, no ticking, no problems, drives fine (havent gotten on it yet, need one more heat cylce)

anyways anyone else have have something similar, do you think i have anything to worry about, should i check anything. just curious

thanks
ryan

I had this happen before, I think it's just a lifter being primed up again after sitting for awhile. I think its ok though.

Do you still have your AIR stuff? My car had been making the ticking noise for a while and it would come and go as you described. Removed the AIR stuf this morning and no more tick......
