How many miles are on the motor? if the motor is very low miles like under 1000k the engine is still tight and will loosen up after the break in period. I have seen new forged motors jump 18 hp after just breaking the motor in and getting some miles on it. I did figure though your hp would be higher. What compression is your motor 11 to 1?

Holy **** I just saw your Signature, that engine must be insane!!! Sick Build!

CR is 10.7:1

Deciding now on LS3 heads intake swap. Got to get the CFMs up. I may just sell my new setup 92 fast, 60lb LS2 injectors and Patriots.

The engine has 200miles, I know it may make a little more with 1k on the clock, but this is not my goal. I've got too much $$$ into this to stop short of my goal.

I would stick with the FAST intake you have, and go with the TFS 235. Those are some major players out there right now. Many 550+ builds using them.

Also I dont see where you say what kind of exhaust your running besides the hooker headers. If your running a 3" y pipe and restrictive exhaust your not going to make a whole lot more until you ditch that, or try a cutout.

My last set up made 505 with patriot stage III's and pacesetter headers, but I had TSP true duals. This go around I have stepped up to some Kooks 1 7/8"-2" with a kooks y-pipe, and mufflex 4" catback. My power is the exact same as yours right now. I jsut installed a cutout, havent gotten it back to the dyno yet but the SOTP dyno says it helped a little...

Take some advice from someone who has already done this build. My 408 Build was 11.3 compression Patriot Performance Stage 3 LQ9 heads, fast 90/90 ported, and Texas Giant cam and made 531 hp. I think you need to up the compression and find a better flowing head, the fast 92 isnt the problem. Just get better flowing heads and go from there. Best of luck.

I think you'll find some extra power in the cylinder head area. If we can help you out with a set of the new PRC 237 castings let us know. I'd be more than happy to get you some excellent pricing for a good side by side comparison!!

I had my motor built by JDC Eng. and it makes 488 on a M6 and 12 bolt on 93 octane.

- stock bore and stroke LQ9 with 11:1 comp
- ported LS6 heads w/ bigger valves
- stock crank
- Fast intake with no porting and NW tb: 90mm
- 36 lb injectors, NOT maxed
- PaceSetter LTs with true dual exhaust out the back
- SLP air box
- Abaco mass air

My cam is a Bullet: 633 lift, 255 dur
It took awhile to get used to street driving, but could be a DD. Wouldn't be much fun as a DD though. Even gets 12mpg in town.

I did by my 408 from TSP. I've just sold my top end LS6/92fast/hooker 1 3/4 headers.

New set up, LS3 ported heads, flowing 350+CFM and GM LS3 intake with TSP 1 7/8 LTs. A fast 102 will be later. This should give me my goal or more.

Very Nice!!! You will have to post up some pics of the new stuff when you get a chance!!!
Also look at or talk to TSP about switching to a little bigger cam. TSP Giant had me in the 53x's hp range...

Yeah if I get thier heads may as well call my engine TSP. Got the 408, LTs, all gaskets and cam from them.

Just thinking what should I get for plugs? Guess whatever the 2008 C6 runs?

Just saw your in CO, I lived in Springs for a couple yrs and miss it. ONLY thing I like about FL is no Emission testing and I can drive the car all year.

Was the cam dialed in or just stuffed in? Like TSP said for it to be peaking that early is suspect.
Better heads should make more power as well.

For idle quality I lined it up with no advance. Yeah the 5800 had me thinking LTs and heads. New setup should help, I'm running a similar cam to some other 500whp 408s. If I'm still off the cam is next.

I worked at HP in Springs for 2yrs and lived off Woodland dr. This was 02-04 I loved it. So did my family. A new job $$ brought me back to Fla.

Thats Crazy, my wifes whole family works for HP down there and half of them live off Circle Dr. and the others live in Monument.

Question-
I am curious to see how your LS3 heads do, if they are killer and you get some great gains. I might be the next person on here changing my top end kit to a LS3 Style. I am not totally sure about this, but I heard that the L92 AND LS3 heads flow great but the intakes were crap and restricted the heads flow? I am not sure about this and was very interested in this information. Now does FAST make an Intake mainfold for LS3 L92 Heads??? Or does someone elsemake aftermarket intake kits? OR is the LS3 intake the best you can get?

Well, I'll let you know, I have a local shop putting down 505 with LS3 top similar spec cam but with .650 lift via 80e A4. I don't recall the manifold but think its a OE LS3 ported. I understand the Fast 102 is out and even more $$ than the LS1 92. Should have no flow issues going forward, if the intake does hold me up at least is a easy swap not like this head swap.

Oh and it was Woodman not Woodland, how age and time clog the mind. I miss the view of Pikes Peak. I had that view in my back yard.

What mods are you going to have to do to a FAST intake to have them fit square port heads like the L92's and LS3 heads? Can you order the FAST in Square port?
