Default Swapping in flat top pistons into an LQ4

I have a 2005 LQ4 that I'm putting in a Camaro with a set of TrickFlow cnc215 64cc heads and a custom camshaft.
Can I simply swap the LQ4 pistons for as set out of an LQ9? I understand that the 2005 LQ4 got better rods, though I'm not positive they're the same as the LQ9.

I'm already past my budget, but if this would work, it'd be a pretty good way to raise my compression without milling the heads.

2004-up LQ4 used floating wrist pins and rod PN 12577583 (LS2/LQ9 style). Shouldn't be a problem swapping to the LQ9 flat tops. The piston PN should be 89017478, which are also used in both the LS2 and LQ9.

A word of advise - milling the heads should only cost $100, vs. a bunch more, unless you're going with used pistons.

I'm hesitant to mill my "super expensive" heads. I've also read that sometimes by milling you sacrifice flow. I've heard about cases where the gains found by an increase in compression were offset by a decrease in air flow.

I also have seen used LQ9 pistons go pretty cheap in the sale section.
