Are cast 1999 LS6 pistons good enough to handle 500-525 HP? THX

Given that the LS6 didn't show up until model year 2001, I'm going to have to say they won't...given that they don't exist.

I would definantly go with forged pistons if your going to be making that kind of power. Diamond makes a pretty good set of pistons, if you really want to make sure your fine I would go with Wiseco.

Thanks guys....I just bought this engine (crate) from a guy and I checked the block and head numbers...they are LS6...the intake is flat on the bottom as well. He told me it was from a 99 Vette...maybe he was wrong? Did not know they were not available till 2001...THX

I just want to drive this combo around for a while before I tear it apart. I'll stay off NOS then and just add bolt on parts to get to around 450???
