Default Full throttle ticking???

When I'm wide open, my 2000 SS makes a fast "ticking" noise.. Like, between 4000 and redline.. Something to panic about? I'm running premium fuel and everything.. So, what is it?

If you're cammed I was told its common for a lot of valvetrain noise. Mine makes a similar noise, think its a lifter? I'm no mechanic so who knows....

see if you can get a vid up. could be a bunch of things. is it more of a "ping" or is it a plain ol' tick? Check your rockers, 22 ft lbs i think. (Don't quote me on that number, search)

I would tighten all of your spark plugs too, my buddy came to me one time with his Z06 and said he heard a ticking sound coming at high rpms. We started the engine up and threw a light down there and came across a loose plug that had just rattled loose. Problem Solved. Sometimes it is just the little things

I usually get the ticking when I start the engine, its cold and the oil is starting to move through the equipment. Once though I am at operating temp am good so the thing is;

what oil are you using? Second
what type of MODS do you have?
If you have mods did you change the oil pump for a ported LS6 or a Melling product.

Also it would help us give you better advice if you posted mods and such not just throw a bone, then wonder Y ur not getting answers.

Well thing is, there are ZERO mods on the car. Nothing has been touched EVER on the car! No heads, no cam, no nothing. No exhaust, intake, nothing. I heard that its probably a rocker though. Is this a big deal? I may try and get a video up of it but I doubt you'll be able to hear it on video.
