Makes no sense that it made pressure on the stand butt then not in the chassis.

Besides wrapping the motor in some random sheet metal, what else got changed along the way?

Always helps to have good supervision in a major project like that.

Well it primed with a pressure can and pushed oil up top. Didn't spin the engine/pump on the stand. Did that in the car and didn't make pressure on the mech gauge...or even show oil at the oil sensor orifice. Hence my thought pickup...and pump not picking up....pulling air?

Stock pickup. New Melling high volume pump. (Followed Melling instructions) it does have a double roller so has the spacers but...no sealing required from what I saw.

Which O-ring did you use? What was the shape of the pickup tube, right past the flange, where it went up into the pump?

Gosh i need verify that with my pops. He bolted the pickup when I wasn't there. I feel like I'll need get at it and check it. Sucks it's in the car. Would been so easy on the stand!
he mentioned blue but again...didn't do it myself
