Thunder Racing 227 Questions
Specs are 227/227 .639/.639 116
Anyone have experience with this cam passing smog in California? It seems like the best step up from the 224 - with the 116 LSA I can't imagine it has much more overlap. My car has the 224 and my tuner said he has passed "much" bigger cams.
This cam would be installed along with an ls6 manifold, long tube headers, and .040 head gaskets into my buddy's 99 6 speed firebird.
Would there be any worthwhile gain over the 224? Will I have piston-to-valve clearance problems? Or no use messing with it?

I'd like to talk with you before you purchase a cam for your intended application. I don't think that cam will pass emissions just from personal experience of having it in my CTS-V...
