Default Machine work needed for ARP Main Studs?

My main studs should be here tomorrow, and a friend asked where I was getting the machine work done?

I didn't realize that swictching from stock bolts to studs would require any machine work? I was told that the mains need to be align honed?

This is a motor that has 500 miles on it. I'm just freshening it up.

If I need machine work, anyone need any ARP studs cheap? LOL

Install them and then check the line bore.....

It's worth it...

I'd suggest you install them and see if the crank turns freely when everything's all buttoned up. If it's stiffer then before you will need a line bore. So you need to 'feel' it before and after the studs are fitted.

Dude, if you don`t want to go all out sell the studs and go back to stock bolts. I wouldn`t try to feel anything out just by turning the crank by hand if the mains are off at all it will chew your crank up pretty bad. Have you looked at the price for even a stock crank? Not pretty.
