need forged 383 stroker rotating assmebly i need help i dont want the top dollar kit but can someone point me int eh right direction as to kits good ones bad ones etc thanks

I went with scoggindickey 383 forgede eagle crank hbeam rods forged pistons. Machinist checked the balance on it and had to rebalance assembly and the support rails were not with the pistons. Machinist said clearance on the bearing was too tight due to the rolled fillet on crank and had to chamfer all the bearings. Machine work: hone block, align bore, installed cam bearings, decked the block, balanced rotating assembly, notched the block, assembled. Cost 1,110.00. Assembly was 2100+ from scoggindickey.
ive heard horror stories about eagle rotating assemblies , but thats just what ive heard
i bought a new moser 9 inch and a new circle d level 3 converter 4000 stall i want a decent rotating assembly cause if it can go wrong it can and will for me , im on my 3rd outlaw trans now im going with a level 5 flt trans so keep the thoughts comming and thanks

Machinist says the eagle crank is a good piece. It will hold more power then the block will. But to do it over again he said diamond are the best pistons then weisco. Oh well he said the short block was sweet. All I want is mid 10's on motor.

A buddy and I built a 383 motor using a eagle crank and rods with diamond -2cc pistons. We had a local machine shop do all the balancing and machine work. Then we checked the bearing clearance and assembled it.
So far so good. It is in my 2600lbs mustang and runs 10.20's any day of the week.

No I paid 2100 for the balanced rotating assembly and took it down to the machine shop. He weighed everything out and the rods and pistons each carried a different weight. Nothing was matched. So he rebalanced it. He also did the block work and then assembled it. Bob Morton Enterprize in Independence, Mo.. My mistake it is a Scat crank and rods.
