I was asking because once we were ready to fire it up (heads/cam. etc.) It ran for a second and shut off. tried again and nothing, just a click.
Tried cranking it with a, about 18" ratchet and wouldn't budge
Noticed the green light was not in the battery like it was when we unhooked it 3-4 weeks ago. Hooked up a charger (showed the charge was not full) let it go 5-10 min.
cranked again and ran for a second and shut off.
let charge more and started boiling right away.
So we gave up. I hope it's the battery. I work for a maufacturer and I will pick up a new one tomorow, if we don't get another 2 feet of snow that is. We make one that cranks 1000 amps that should fit right in.
If that don't crank it over and keep it running ????????????????????????????????????
thanx fellas

If it is not turning over it's probably not the starter. The stock starter is a gear reduction starter and will crank a 13:1 motor all day long.
If it won't budge with a breaker bar you better look somewhere else. Sounds like something is binding up. What did you do to the motor? Is it new? Give us some more details.

the other guy said his 11.7 wouldn't budge
I don't think the starter is the problem, I think it's the battery
heads, cam, headers, clutch, flywhhel, and bunch of other little stuff
thanx

If you are using a 18 inch ratchet I'm not sure you can easily turn that motor, again might be talking 40 ft lbs of torque or MORE why not grab a big torque wrench and try it from the bottom of the car.
Might be your battery too.
