What nobody asked, or I didn't see, is it an auto or manual? For a manual 450HP is pretty easily obtainable, but with the auto that is a whole different story. Also what do you want to do with the car, DD, strip, street/strip, weekend warrior? The list goes on and on. Lots of things to consider before saying I want X HP. But then again that is my .02.

this

we need to know whether an auto or M6. the list that was given on the page before was a pretty good list, but didnt factor in either stall or clutch. which if M6, a clutch is a GREAT idea. and for a 4L60E, a stall is as much a neccisity as everything else.

and speaking from experience, if you are working on a budget with this type of project, set aside ~$500 more just for things that youll find or forget or that will sneak up on you, youre always surprised by those types of things

A manual is easier then, heads, cam, LS6 intake and few bolt ons and you should be there or close. You could easily run the PRC heads, I like the LS6 stage 2.5 ones and others like the 5.3L stage 2.5. That is your choice. A cam similar to the TSP tsunami, or something custom from one of the cam doctors. And bolt ons to complement these additions. That should get you in the ball park.

+1

I have a 97 C5, Auto.

i had kooks longtubes and a LS6 intake

Just installed PRC 5.3l stage 2.5 heads, Tsunami Cam, UD Pulley, tune i gained about 90 rwhp through the stock C5 intake box, I make just shy of 400rwhp, so through an aftermarket intake, a ported throttle body and your car being a manual that setup would get you pretty close i think.

feel free to pm me about how much it cost me and parts you'll need to buy.
