Default Thermal Coatings? Woth it or not?

What are your opinoins on thermal coatings? Stuff like the Swain tec coatings? Are they worth the cost of doing them or not? Where sould you use them? I think that they a good thing, but I would like a second opinion. I was thinking on the top of my pistons and the combustion chamber, along with in the exhaust ports. I think that it would help the heat stay in the chamber, so it would be more effeicient, and hopefully be worth a few horsepower. Since I am planning a boost motor, I am wondering if the coatings will allow me to get away with a slightly higher compression ratio? What are your opinoins on this. Am I right or wrong in my thinking?

Your on the right page about keeping the heat in the combustion chamber but coatings can go from mild expense to very high expense the choice is yours my opinion though would be if you got that type of cash definately go for it, if not play more with the stroke of your engine or somewhere you can gain less friction in the engine. jmo <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

TTT... I'm interested in seeing some more facts/opnions on this subject.

I considered coated main/rod bearings this time around, but decided against it because I couldn't really get any good info.
