Default Cam gurus chime in! need cam suggestions

I've been wanting to cam my car for the longest time now. I'm looking for suggestions on what cam would be best for me. My mods are in my sig. I've been set on buying the MS3 but i'm curious if there is anything different someone might suggest. I'm looking to gain some big hp/tq (hopefully around 400hp or more) N/A and also something that likes the juice, something that isn't to bad for driving around town and also sounds nasty at idle. So if you have suggestions about a cam or custom grind specs post up!

I would definitely hit up Predator-Z or Patrick G for a custom spec'd cam.. they seem to always provide what the customer wants without fail

I'd say they will spec you out a cam in the high 230s/low 240s.. around .610/.595 lift and a 110-112 LSA is my guess.. should be very nice for your setup

Default Competition Cams

Call Comp Cams since they custom grind most of the performance companies camshafts like Texas speed, Thunder racing etc. Forget the MS3, call Comp Cams and discuss with them what your application and future intentions are and they will custom grind a camshaft that probably you'll be the Only one with those specs. Hope this helps bro

I would have to agree with above statement. I called them a while back about cam selection. Then I had speed inc customer grind a cam with great results. Stick to the shops that have the most experience with ls1 cam.

I love my MS3 specially how it sounds and turns heads everywhere but tuning is a PITA! Your stall however is too small for an MS3! I have a 3600 and the preferred stall for all motor setups would be 4K and up but since I spray the 3600 is fine.

An MS3 for your goals of turning high rpms and sounding good and being over 400rwhp can all be achieved with a MS3. or look into a custom grind similar to the MS3, hell you may even might could go with a MS4 if you looking to gain a lot N/A...I see you have a 3200 stall maybe TQ V.3? close to same lift specs just less duration.

not to confuse the issue but alot of sponsors have cams that they claim are the ultimate cam only setup. With the 3200 stall you should check out a mid 230 cam, with to low of a stall you would leave the line in kinda of a dead spot out of the powerband. if your willing to change stalls then bigger cam like a MS4 or Polluter would be ok. Check the cam only time list some guys there are using Trex cams too, but their cars are super light.

PS. Dont get caught up to much in hp numbers, being that your an auto and most of these cams are advertised in cars with M6's. So a M6 car making 410rwhp cam only, your stalled A4 will proabably leave you short of 400 but you would probably win a drag race given the other driver isnt a pro.
