Question Ls1/ls6 lifters

does anyone know what rpm the stock LS1 lifters can handle?

wasn't for sure, wondering what u guys RPM run to? i run at 6,250 stock valvetrain. M6

i read about an LS6 in HOT ROD mag. aftermarket cam, springs 6,800 rpm!
i think both engines have same lifters.

The LS1 lifters are good to about 6500 rpms. That is the biggest hold back in the LS1 engine is the lifters. The LS6 when tested made HP to 7K rpm. The CTSV lifters pull till 8K+ rpm. Depending on your application I would get the LS7 OE replacement.

so the ls1 and ls6 are different lifters?

LS7 lifters would be sweet, but if i went that far i would buy a solid roller cam and lifter set to go well above 7000. no hydraulic lifters, would be noisy though. lol

Its internals realistically there are only 3 or 4 companies here in the states that make lifters. So if you get this spill of these are so special...they are just a revised of some type of lifters already out. It all has to do with the internals.

The LS7 replacement has a preload of between .061 to .097 I think I can't remember. The higher you set the preload pressure the quieter is going to be. My friend has a Zo6 and the new ZO6 red line if I am correct is 6800 and never head a noise when it was stock. After his head cam package he is now revving to 7400 with the CTSV lifters which are an upgraded LS7 lifter and there are no noise issues at all. The CTSV lifter is also hydraulic.

i ment the solid lifters would be noisy. would have to upgrade to adjustable rocker arms too with solid roller lifter. i agree LS7 lifters r the best deal

can a pumped up lifter bend a pushrod?

If you mean pre soaked yes, because they act more like a solid lifter and the pre load will be wrong.
