ls7 lifters in ls1

Question ls7 lifters in ls1

I will be doing my cam swap within the next week or two and i will be upgrading to ls7 lifters.. qusetion is will i need to get ls7 trays? also what pushrods will the ls7's require with stock unmilled heads i will be checking with a pushrod checker to be sure but i have read 7.350....?

The trays are the same thru LS1 and 7's. As far as pushrods, 7.4's should be okay, but the best thing to do is check it and then order accordingly.

The only true way of finding out is by measuring the LS7 will need a shorter push rod.

I"ve never heard of the LS7 lifters needing a shorter pushrod. I've got stock LS2 heads and rockers etc and have been using 7.4 T/Speed hardened pushrods. Maybe that could explain some of my lower dyno numbers?

Im not sure about the ls2's but ls1 heads unmilled with the ls7 lifters recommend the shorter pr's

Lifter trays are not all the same. LS1 and LS2 trays are distinctly different. I believe you can use a Gen4 trays in a Gen3 but not the other way around.
