Default Let's choose a cam guys!!!

Okay, I am looking for the right cam for me. I have alot of choices, and I'm not sure which one is best. I guess the best way for me to go about this is to tell you guys my goal and show ya'll what I am thinking.

Okay, the cam will be in an 01 z28, 3.73 geared with a yank 4k stall, and a 150 shot.

I want a cam with good under the curve power, and will make good power off the bottle, but when I hit the switch, I want it to be able to handle it and still be well-mannered.

I am thinking, a vengance vindicator, 240/244 .605/.596 112 lsa

or, a Vengance vrx4, 228/230 .588/.592 112lsa

or, a TSP 228R, 228/228 . .588/.588 112-114lsa

or a TSP Torquer v.2, 232/234 .595/.598 112-114 lsa

maybe a Torquer v.3, 231/234 .643/.598 112-114lsa.

What do you guys think? Will these cams work with that stall? Will they respond to the juice well? What about stall size, will they work with that stall?
Any other cams I should be looking at?

As always, any help is great guys thanks.

Your stalls to big imo an your SCR is to low for cams bigger then 236+ imo, so I would lower stall speed imo and use either the VRX4 or 232/234 112 cams. And don't worry about the N20, your cam choice will work fine with it.

Right now my new HC set up is going with that cam, stage II TEA 243's and other accompanying parts. Brian at TEA said that with what I am running I should be around 450 rwhp on an automatic set up with a 3400 stall.

it seems like your variety of cams is to large at this point. The 228r and the VRX4 are high performance driver cams. The vindicator is for max high rpm hp like other cams like the TRex, Polluter, and the MS4.

With the big cams you going to lose some manners but if your just racing then you wont miss it. And your stall is high enough for a pretty big cam also.

Out of those cams i'd go with the torquer v.2

I ran one with spray, a fuddle 3800, and 3.73's and loved it. And that yank will be tighter on the street. (I have a pro yank now and wish I went yank the first time around)

So, I'm thinking the yank ss3600, and a torquer v.2 or a vrx4 or the 228r.

Which one do you guys think would give me more under the curve power, and still have good street manners, seeing as how this car is daily driver.

What lsa should I look at?

112 to 114 good power curve anything less( ie 111 - 109) and driveability will start to suffer. Specially around 110 0r 109 LSA.

A 4k stall is going to work well with any of those cams. I would not change that.

Torquer 3 is a better version of the T2, but you need double springs with it. 228r for the best mannered cam. VRX4 sounds good too. Tell us the custom grind

What!? a 4k stall is almost never to big for a cam car. Sometimes it can be a bit much(harsh on the drivetrain) on nitrous however it still works well.

as long as it's a tight 4k converter built for spray. If it's not a good converter he'll lose HUGE when he blows through the converter plus the extra heat in the trans.
