Default Running Rich Please Help!

I have a 1998 c5. I just built a 383ci with trickflow 215 heads and a vrx5 cam from vengeance racing. Everything went together and ran great for about 1000 miles then I started breaking rocker arms. I found out the exhaust pushrods were too long so I went with .100 shorter pushrods on the exhaust. I am running comp cams promagnum rockers so they are adjustable. I can adjust the rockers to zero lash and the car acts like there is a valve being held open. I have been through them about 10 times to make sure they weren't too tight. All the primarys on the headers glow red the car backfires on decel and between shifts and is running warm. It used to run about 180 to 184. Now it is running 207 to 210 in traffic and cools down to about 184 when driving. I have checked the rockers to be sure there was no contact with the retainer, checked the o2 fuse, and replaced the o2s. It was running great til the last rocker broke and I wne twith shorter pushrods and it started all these problems. Can someone please help me out. I am so frustrated with this thing right now.

Thanks

Any possibility that you have bent valves? Sounds like you got some serious problems going on to have glowing headers, think I would be seeing a tuner somewhere immediately

If its lean then why is it backfiring? The car is rich not lean. Its like the timming is too far retarded and unburnt fuel is going into the headers. I did a compression test and all cylinders have 210psi. The car ran fine and now its doing this. I have no clue what is going on. I have spoke to john @ texas speed, vengeance racing, revolutionary performance, and a guy that does tuning here in town. No one can give me an answer. Has anyone seen the reluctor wheel move?

A lean pop sounds just like a backfire, I suggest a wide band or at least get someone to plug in a scanner and see what your O2's are reading. Does it start easy or crank for a long time?

It starts fine but not like it used to. It used to rev a lil on start but not it starts and goes straight to idle. It backfires on decel.
