the STUDS should not be tightened in the block, only till they hit bottom , as for TTY specs. ive always did 3 rounds. 25-50-80 . some may do it different, that how ive done it

According to ARP, the 70 lb-ft final was changed to 80 lb-ft with their lube. When I last spoke to them, they indicated that further testing had provided this new value.

You can use a very light amount of 30wt oil for lube. Been doing that for a long time.

I go 35-55-80, in that order using GM's sequence. Sit for an hour, go back and click them one more time @ 80 ft lbs.

I wonder what made them test further? It was 70 for a long time. Did they start having some complaints?

Don't honestyl know. I removed my Darts last year and installed a set of AFR's. My Dart's were installed with the 70 lb-ft per the instructions and when I was talking to ARP they told me they increased the final torque number. One of the older guys there told me that "it was the new crew of youngsters they just got in and to just use the old 70 lb-ft number".

That is exactly how I went about it (30 weight oil). Hand twist (after thorough cleaning of holes), hand twist till reach bottom, back off a bit, then 30/50/75 and final pass after a good break.
They have been on almost 3 years with no issues.

Actually there's no need to write it down. If you buy ARP studs new in the box, it comes with the instructions.

Well, according to testing, the ARP lube is more accurate than other types of lube for torque values.

Not really, I saw where Stacey David had a segment on ARP and that was their claim based on their testing. I can neither confirm nor deny.
