i have an ls1 a4 gto with headers catless mids cai and tune and have been wanting to do a head and cam swap. ihave been wanting a smaller size cam because the cars a daily driver and wasnt looking for anything to extreme. i originally wanted a tps 224/224 .581/.581. but because of the price i just bought an mti stealth 2 224/220 .581/.581 and a set of slp 1.85 rocker arms. now i know stock the ls1 has 1.7 so i have a question. is it true going from a 1.7 to these 1.85 the lift increase approximately .05 or .06? saying that it would make the mti cam almost .640/.640? and if so opinions on whether or not .640 is a little too big for regular street use. mine is that it is way too big but hey im new to this.
