1 trick that is used sometimes by amateurs and pros alike is to put the front crank balancer/pulley in the oven on the lowest heat setting for 40 minutes or so and the heat will expand the metal enough that it will pull on very easily . With pressed lower ball joints just pop them in the freezer for 6 or 8 hours then they too are very easy to press into the control arm .

I am working on an emissions legal cam that would probably work with a stock converter.
