And yes, there was also talk of a 7.0L (as well as 500hp and possible supercharger) for the upcoming C6 Z06/Z07/LS7 (or whatever it will be called) model.
Yes, I read this in a magazine that the 7.0L 427 will supposedly be in the 2006 Z06 and that the "Blue Devil" is an LPE supercharged version of that 427 pushing 650 or so HP. "Blue Devil" may not make it to production, but the 427 may. Guess we'll know soon enough once they officially announce the C6 and its variants.

Two weeks ago Autoweek reported that the 2006 Z06 will have a 427.

I just got contacted about some blocks with 6.0/6.2 cast into them. I will get pictures up soon as i get them. They blocks are still located in Michigan. I though he was shitting me too when he called asking if i had any use for them.
If you don't believe gm played with the idea of a 6.2 then look at this link from a Chevy Colorado Cruz that is a concept truck that was at the woodward ave dream cruise. http://www.pickuptruck.com/html/2004...test/cruz.html

I read over at Corvetteforum that J-Rod believes it is some sort of test bed that GM played with. There is an interesting discussion going on in the C6 Z06 forum that links this thread as well.

LS7 = Dry Sump. (You'll freak when you see the reservoir!)

Alright, That would make sense why at the begining of the thread the gentlemen saw these same blocks in Dec 03. When the develop parts they have to cast a certain number so they don't lose their *** on them. Chances are in this situation probably 50-150 of these 6.0/6.2L blocks. They would use these "beta" blocks for all the testing and for the mule test vehicles. Look at the other GenIII engine that has two numbers cast on it 4.8/5.3. everything is the same except the 4.8 uses a 3.270 stroke with longer rods and flat tops to keep compression. The same deal is what I have heard is going on with the 6.0/6.2L "beta" blocks. 6.0= 4.00(bore) x 3.622(stroke) and for the 6.2L= 4.00(bore) x 3.750(stroke). Walla! This keeps all the casting for the engines the same as everything that needs to be machined is the same(bore). The parts that bolt in are easy to swap. My take, and my idea why I ended up being offered these blocks is because the are NOS (new old stock) no longer the latest casting. There must be some little differences between the current ls2 block and these blocks for them to recast them without the 6.0/6.2 on them. As soon as I hear more i'll post it.

No oil in the oil pan, the sump or oil reservoir is placed elsewhere in the engine compartment.
