Default lifter question :(

did a Torquer V3 and took it to RPM in NC to get it tunned, all was well, bought the car home ran it down the road a few times, perfect. go to get it aligned today and now it starts ticking really REALLY bad. it did it after warm up and if i get down on it hard and let off it goes away for a few seconds, motor had 64k on it when the swap was done. im running 5/30 should i go higher?

I would pull the covers and have a look see before you decide it is a lifter.

It won't hurt anything but if it is a lifter collapsing heavier oil is just a bandaid....

i've seen alot of these posts lately and my car even does it every now and then. the lifters just bleed down. I have found that a heavier conventional oil seems to help. i'm running a castrol 10w-40 and has improved greatly

I had the same problem and thought it was piston slap but to my surprise it was just a leaky header gasket... I couldn't believe it because it was ticking.... I thought it was either piston slap or a lifter and I was ready to tear apart the top end to replace the lifters but got me some good old GM gaskets and problem fixed... check the link I provided and see the video I posted so you can hear the ticking...
