No worries..

I usually start mine and let it sit for around 45 seconds.. Just long enough for the oil to circulate.. If 45 seconds is going to make you late then it didn't matter anyways..
I take it easy the first minute or two driving then go WOT the rest of the way to my destination.

try short tripping it for a month in -20 temps with a broken thermostat, that **** will get everywhere and be a pain to clean out.

If you've been doing this for a while now, I'd take the time to inspect the PCV lines. Replace PCV valve if contaminated. Possibly the stuff will be caked onto the valve covers as well. Should do an oil change too since if it can't really get rid of the moisture, this stuff makes the oil more acidic.

Roger that. I'll be moving back down to Alabama in about a month. I'll probably start on all kinds of tearing down once I have a man cave.

If you do alot of short trips it would be a good idea to change the oil on a time schedule instead of going by mileage. Changing every three months would be good practice even if the oil only has 1000 miles on it.

Yep, normal...BUT:
1. Change the oil every 3 months.
2. Check PCV system, bet it needs TLC.
3. Add a catch can (RevXtreme).
4. Let it warm up for a minute or 3.
5. It will eventually shorten the life of your engine.

Head gasket issues happen, but aren't very common. The only cooling problems we routinely see on LS motors are water pumps shitting the bed and gunk in the radiator due to a poorly sealed system. Simply flush the coolant every 2 years.

You do all those things, and the yellow gunk will all but disappear.

Yeah I definitely need to get a catch can. I've been following the longest thread in history, aka "my catch can routing ok?" and I think I've learned the value of a good catch can... but still dont own one, lol. I've been slowing down on the amount of abuse I dish out to my car mainly because its got 136k miles, its a 98 with its stock rod bolts, and its my DD. I'll let it warm up a bit more before I drive to work. I use to use it for long road trips all the time from AL to VA and back once a month.

I still see 6.0 in my future... with a decent catch can, and hopefully a little longer drive to work.

I had that yellow stuff too. I disconnected/capped the PCV, installed breathers and it has never come back. Be sure to put a breather in the oil filler tube because as the moisture evaporates, it rises "up" and out that breather.

I have this same crap when the weather gets cold. Looks exactly like the picture the OP posted. I drive about 4 minutes to work and the car barely gets up to temperature by the time I pull into the parking lot.

I ended up getting a catch can after I moved back to AL. My longer trips to work and the PCV upgrades seemed to cure it. The headgasket lives.

Short trips to work suck anyways if you have a hot F body.
I take the "scenic" route to work when I have to use a car.
It adds about 10 minutes but, the engine thanks me for it.
It is at WOT temp just as I pull in to the parking lot.
If the weather is real nice, it's the Fatboy on the tarmac.

Love my WS6 but, nothin compares to 0 to 60 in about 2.5 seconds....and 35 mpg LOL
