Default Cam or Nitrous next???

Im deciding on what i want to do for next year... whether i want to go for a cam swap or nitrous. The car is full bolt ons with a performabuilt lvl2 trans and a moser 12 bolt. The car has the original 73,000 mile ls1 in it and plans for the future when the original ls1 goes is an iron block 408. The car is mainly an 1/8th mile car only... so anyways my question is whether i should go for a cam swap or nitrous and i had one other thought and that was suspension work. What do you guys think?

If you're already planning on putting a 408 in, don't bother with the cam, spray the **** out of it.

go with the cam. my car is very similar and i went the nitrous path. not happy with results. i'm going with AFR 205 heads, G5X3 cam, and FAST intake/TB. I may keep the nitrous for a boost 3k - 5k rpm.

ya thats what ive been saying to a few of my buddies... personally im leaning towards nitrous, but id like some opinions first. I love the sound of a big cam, but im sure i would see a bigger gain from nitrous whether its a 100 shot or 150.

nitrous...you can't beat the hp and torque you get. Save the cam for the other motor and add the nitrous to it also. Spray the snot out of it and add the control arms and TA to it ...it will need it for both motors.

If your going to a 408CI. your gonna need to put the power to the ground. I voted for suspension.

I have a little baby 370ci. with minor suspension and I'm having problems with it hooking, especially on just a 100shot out of the hole.

nitrous for sure... what cam out there can produce 150hp like nitrous can? and it only hits when you want it to. the car will drive stock until u hit the go go juice button

I vote Nitrous. You can't beat the bang for the buck.

A cam will produce some good results, but no sense in pulling the engine apart if you're planning a new build in the near future. Buy a good kit and save the rest of your money up for the new build.

I voted for the cam because you'll have that additional hp all the time. If you're going to put that 408 in soon then I'd go w/ the suspension then N2O. Remember...spinnin' ain't winnin'. haha!

Suspension cause your gonna need to get that power to the ground with whichever setup you go with.

Well nitrous sounds good if youre really into a 408 anytime soon. The fuel upgrade will be already done for your bigger engine later on!
