Default LQ4 build of my friends

my friends building a LQ4 and using a cam with the specs of 216/220, .525/.532, 114 LSA, with a 150 shot what do you think he will put to the wheels? through a auto? also he needs to know what he will have to swap over from his motor to the lq4?

i just finished a 6.0 swap. it went very well and im really happy with it. things to transfer over are front accessories, oil pan and windage tray with pickup tube and dipstick, intake, wiring harness and ecu. not sure what heads ur going to use but i used the 317's from the lq4. i plan on upgrading later but they work well.

317's flow the same as a 243 but with a bigger chamber. if he is staying na he could mill the 317's to gain some compression back. i'd use the 317's over the 241

He'd be better off selling the 317's and 241's and getting a set of 243's or even a used set of ported heads. What intake is he using? Is there a reason for using such a rediculously small cam in a 6.0?

he doesn't want anything big he wants a slight gain about 20RWHP, I believe he is going to use my BBK SSI intake manifold

I will sell him my 222/238 .581 .604 114+4 for $150 shipped, (9,000 miles). Great torque and I ran the times in my sig with that cam with L92 heads. PM me if interested.

Me and him are debating apon what heads he should use the 241's or 317's could someone give us some feedback?? Also a power number for the LQ4 he bought my whole intire setup I had for my LS1 which is the smooth below **** 85 mm throttle body BBK SSI intake manifold

Also I am assuming he will need a tune correct before he goes out driving and beating on it

I just finished the LQ4 swap in my 01 Z28 A4. I used the ASA cam 226/236, .525/.525 110LSA. Also installed a 3200 stall.
I used the 317 heads, Ill take flow over comp. jump anyday.

It put down 354rwhp, 353rwqt on a mustang dyno.

Is that good for a stang dyn and is that tuned?

Yeah, its not bad. On a Dyno-Jet that would be 390-400rwhp. And yes it was tuned.

Your friend will be happy with his set-up.
Is he planning on using a stall converter?

I thought the same till I researched the whole mustang dyno low numbers thing. Mustangs are on average 13% lower than dyno-jets.

And going through an A4 and 3200 stall robs even more #'s power.
Besides that it just numbers, I was there for the tune not numbers. My tuner did a 1/4 mile run on the dyno also and it did 11.8. Not sure how accurate the 1/4 mile pulls are on a dyno, but I was impressed.
