From what I understand the trailblazer converters don't hold good when towing when put in our trucks. You need more gear with those tires too. I'd say go 4.10s and get a better converter. You have plenty of cubes and a mild cam, so you should have good low-end. I think gears and converter are holding you back alot.

I'd say a yank 2600 or 3000. The 2600 has a over-sized lock-up clutch and retains the full towing capacity. The 3000 retains like 98% of the towing capacity. I have the 2600 and it's great, no problems and drives great. Most people with the trucks get the 3000.

I'd say go ahead and get the 3000 and eliminate all the low-end problems! It'll compliment your cam too. I'd do gears first, those are some big tires for only 3.73s.
