ok we put a 416 ls3 short block under ls2 heads and ls6 intake in a 2002 trans am. issue is when we start it passenger side header is cold. like 90-100 degrees while driver side is of course 290-350ish. so half the motor is not firing. have double checked the cam sensor wires and they where correct but swapped outer wires just to see and still doing same thing. has spark pulled plug to see...and noid lights say that injectors are getting signal. when pull plugs they are wet saying injectors are working.....soooooo any ideas?

 

What reluctor wheel did you use? Needs to be a 24 tooth to work with the PCM in this car. (Or look for the lingenfelter adaptor)

 

Run a compression check.

Check the valves; make sure they are opening.

Check that each plug is firing when cranking (disconnect the coils on the opposite bank)

 

yup it is 24 tooth connector.... swapping coil packs as we speak...

 

still no luck open to suggestions.....

triple checked grounds
injectors brand new...are getting signal and are not stuck open or closed
checked cam sensor wires they are as they should be. pulled completly off with no change

Could a wire from the passenger side coils been snaged, from the harness?
Its gotta be wiring in my opinion.

Have you put a tach or stereo in this thing recently? If so, check those wires you spliced into for power or signal problems. If not, trace the coil pack wires, you might have one pinched?

 

Do you have the correct cam gear in it... 1x not 4x...

 

Did you check compression on each cylinder? What about a leakdown test on each cylinder?

Did you check to see if you are getting spark with each plug?

Did you check the injector and coil pack fuses?

Did you verify that the valves are opening and closing?

 

What do the plugs on the bad side look like after running?

 

Forward fuse box by the headlight, inj1 fuse and inj2 fuse.

Just a long shot but could you have a blocked exhaust on that side? Although i would expect it to pop out the intake if it was blocked. You sure you have the proper wires going to each coil pack?

also 120 psi sounds a little low...is that in ALL the cylinders?

 

I actually had the same problem - plugged catalytic converter on the passenger bank. Try this: pull off your y-pipe and start the motor. See if you get flow out of the passenger bank.

 

I just reread your initial post and you said you pulled a plug and verified spark. You verified spark via a plug on the cold bank?

So there's spark and the plugs are soaked?

These were brand new plugs right?
Did you try just swapping those 4 plugs on the off chance they got fouled some how? I doubt that's the issue but we gotta rule things out at this point.

If you have spark and fuel but your plugs are soaked I'd follow the injector wiring and check the grounds. It almost sounds like something maybe be permanently grounding the injectors on that bank and keeping them open all the time.
