Anyone have an opinion to which one would be better for a DD looking for some nice power?
Im leaning toward the 218/220
thanks guys
You will get a gain over stock with any of them. Just depends on your overall subjectivity of HP vs DD. I have ran a 220/220 114. Nice 'smaller' cam..Kinda fell off in power fairly rapidly after 6200 Rpm's..but drivable and better than stock.
Good luck.

what valve lift and lsa?
pretty much i dont really care about gas mileage or emissions but id like a car i can drive everyday, i want a good bit of power on this thing without risking breaking the bottom end, upgrading the bottom end or stalling it
and as always, custom grinds are always a good choice.

New Era Performance has a sweet 220*-224* grind that fits the criteria perfectly....

Nothing wrong with the Comp Cam 220/224. It might fall off its peak HP a little sooner than the 224/224. The 224 seems to just hit the 'sweet spot' as far as a good range of HP/TQ.
I think any of the sponsors including some who have responded here could probably get you a good package. You are just talking a difference of 5-10 HP and a few degrees of overlap difference with each selection.
And if a year or two down the line you go bigger..I agree 228 cams do not give up that much low end, but are a step up..
Ed's got a nice line-up of cams..Good luck in your search. Let us know how that 2010 Camaro SS work out!

any suggestions for a good 224/224 if i take the step up to that?
ive already got the ls7 lifters, ls2 chain and ls6 ported shimmed pump
Check with the sponsor(s)..I think you can get your own cam card with the TR224 (or others) and if you want something slightly different..I.E. 222/224 or 222/226 if you still want a split, they can order you a custom grind for just a few dollars more.
If you want just my opinion based on your next car purchase, and want to keep it simple..I will reiterate, I never really hear anybody say anything bad about the TR224 for overall performance and driveability. But, it is just one opinion..so keep an open mind. There is no 'magic cam'..

or if you REALLY cannot stand the stall, go for a 224/224 114
No cam only car will ever make enough power to risk the bottom end period. It just boils down to clearance, and rpm.
