What compression ratio will I have?

Default What compression ratio will I have?

I have a 2004 z06 with a ls6, and everything is stock except for the procharger haha. I have a set of 317 heads and people say I should run them to lower my cr and be able to run safer and add more boost safely. Is this a fact? The rest of the internals are stock. The motor is pretty much new 10k miles. The car has 10.5:1 cr stock, but if I change these heads and use the mls 6.0 gaskets what would that reduce my cr to? Is it worth it? I would also use arp head studs and upgraded valve springs and pushrods. Just wanted to know if it would be worth doing. Am I to expect to lose power by doing this as well when I am not in boost? How much more boost could I run by lowering the cr? I am running 6psi right now with no meth and putting down 509 at the tire. I ran 11.4 on street tires the other night which was respectable on street tires, but I want more.

I just dont want to increase the boost with this high compression.

Let me know your opinions or advice.

should be 9.6:1 or so...depends on how much the piston is in the hole.

that's with a 70cc combustion chamber and 0.051" head gaskets.

hmm, arent the 317's 71 or 72cc chambers?

if they are then it changes as follows.

71 : 9.53:1

72 : 9.42:1

not a huge difference.
