Default Picking a cam for LQ9 Jeep

In the process of buying an LQ9 TJ, the same one that was listed in the classifieds a while back. It's a completely stock LQ9 with just a custom exhaust for the jeep install, 3.73 gears, 31" tires, and a 4L60E with a stock converter. The only thing I want to do to it is a cam install with supporting hardware (pushrods and whatnot with a tune).

This is going to be a daily driver with a lot of miles being put on it so I want to focus on gas mileage with a nice broad power band. I'm buying it because it doesn't have a crappy chrystler powertrain in it and it is everything I need to make it through northern NY winters in style and be fun to drive not because I want something stupidly fast to kill every car that even thinks about driving next to me on the hwy (I'm building something else for that ).

So far I've been looking at the 218/214 .578/.578 112 LSA LE Sleeper cam. Was wondering if anyone has experience with this cam or if they know of something that might net me better mileage with similar power.

You'll want a cam with more exhaust duration than intake duration, especially if you don't have long tube headers. 218/224 on a 114LSA would be better if you want fuel economy and all-around power.

The power isn't really as important as the fuel economy since it is such a small wheel base vehicle I don't want it getting real squirrely in the rain/snow. How will going up a cam size affect the TC since I'll be leaving it stock?

Also looking at doing an UD Pulley with the swap since it'll be off anyways. Does it really help gas mileage or is it a bunch of people believing the hype the manufacturers push out?

You ever hear that say "Do you want good, cheap or fast"...Well you can only have two of the three. If its good and fast aint gonna be cheap. If its cheap and fast it aint gonna be good...You get the point.

Well, you can only have one of the two...power or fuel economy! Ever thought about getting some peg-leg gears (3.42 or 2.73) for the highway use. What do you consider alot of miles?

Well like I said the power isn't important as I won't be racing, towing or mudding. And with 31" tires I'll already only be revving 1600rpm at 60mph so gears aren't the issue. I'd like to put 100k on the setup before I change anything else. I'm not expecting to turn this into a geo metro but it would be nice to say that I get 20-22mpg combined. I've found that I don't have a real heavy foot as I'd previously suspected since in my old car I got 17mpg city and the person I sold it to gets 14mpg with it so please don't say driver mod for better economy.
