tsp 224 cam with a 114 lsa would be a nice one to put in for one because it is alot better performance than an ls6, if you definitaly want it as stockish as possible this would be a good one. My buddy has this in his car and the idle sounds very stockish. Plus they also have the mail in tunning that is specifically tuned for their cams. just tell them what you have and which cam you intend on using and they will tune it pretty acuratley for a mail in. Even though the stock ecu is supposed to recognize the ls6 cam it still should have tunning to get op. performance out of it.

the newer ls6 cam is normaly worth 20rwhp if the car is tuned properly....most think that if it has a smooth idle there tune doesnt need to change....your gaining a little duration and ALOT of lift over the stocker....

i have one in my 5.3 paid 160 shipped for the cam and springs....the ls6 cam loves boost or spray and has a broader powerband than either 2 of the ls1 cams.....

i dont know what buddy you are talking about guessing thats for someone else...

it has everything to do with it, i said id believe it when i saw the times and i dont believe just the ls6 swap would yield those track times. if hes got a full suspension setup it def is relevant. i usually see pretty good size cam only cars with bolt ons stock suspension going 11.7-11.8. i dont see one as small as the ls6 and 243's alone putting up 11.9.

i dont mind being wrong, im just curious asking questions

i was gonna guess 12.3-12.5 but thats not worth the time and effort, 12.69 is bolt on territory... buddy went 12.7 with full exhaust and tune on his 01 b4c.

and before anyone says thats a b4c, they are identical to z28's.

His car was dyno'd at speed inc and they even told him the ls6 cam was junk and would only make 15-20 more hp if that. If your going to spend 6+hours on a cam install there are much better cams that will make more power. If you put ls6 heads on as well thats a completely different story those alone are a 20-30hp increase. Just the ls6 cam is not going to be worth it at all.

i personaly think z06 cam is a waist of money and time and so did my brother. He owns a 2004 Z06 and at 21000 miles he scrapped his for a 224..
If the cam was worth it z06 owners wouldnt scrap them. If it were me i would go with a 224 cam amd a set of 243s just my .02 cents..

Not hatin at all but your trap speed is low for a heads/cam swap. stock 243 heads w/ a decent cam should trap 117. Hell there are many mild cam only setups trappin 115+.

op Listen to what guys are tellin you, the ls6 cam is a waste! Look into the lpe gt2-3 or the tr cheater v.3 cam. Both will drive like stock and yield 30+ whp gain. Best choice would be to contact geoff at eps, those eps lobes are very easy on springs...

Thats because your tune was jacked, that little 218/224 should not be eating any more gas than the ls6 if it was tuned right.
