How much compression?
Im not sure if this is where I need to be asking this question but it seemed as good as any to me!!! I am doing my first ls1 build in an 01 b4c. I have completely rebuilt the motor and I am waiting on a stall to finish the build. I figured this would be a great time to run a compression test to give me an idea of what kind of power this think might be making. All stock bottom end with new bearings. Had the heads milled a little and ported/polished. Comp 252/256 .595-.595 112+2 lsa. Just built to be a fun daily driver. Compression test shows 225 or so (my compression tester is a heap). Is this fairly normal for this motor or am I going to have to run some pretty hot fuel in it?

I think I remember a guy doin a compression test on a stock LS1 and he was getting 220 in each cylinder, dont take it to the bank though cause I really dont remember if his was stock. If you had the STOCK LS1 heads milled then you are probably lookin at 10.5 or 10.7 I think if anymore is done in them than that you would have to flycut the pistions with that cam.
91 or 93 octane should do you just fine
