Default Is a LS2 timing chain a direct replacement for LS1

I can just buy a LS2 chain by itslef without sprockets and install it in my 2002Z28 correct? Or do I need to buy sprockets as well?

It mounts up fine, however if there is any wear on your sprockets it will accelerate wear on the new chain.

Generally, the sprockets are very low wear items and a chain only replacement is o.k.

On a very high miler, replace all 3 pieces.

The car only has 34,000 miles and I change the oil with mobile 1 once a year weither it needs it or not. Im sure the sprockets are good. But if I notice any wear I will buy new sprockets.

With that kind of mileage you should be able to get just the chain. The sprockets typically don't show much wear at all. We have the chains on the shelf if you need one!
