p0327 is for the front knock sensor which should be bank 1(left side of the engine). The pcm cant differ between cyl 1,2 ect. as far as knock. It can only tell bank 1 or 2. Its probobly either the sensor or the jumper harness. That is ofcourse if you dont actually hear an engine mechanical noise. As far as false knock i would have to say no.

if its an engine mechanical issue causing it then yes you should be able to hear it. lS1s make alot of noise anyways but the PCM is looking for something out of the normal to set that code. As far as being hard to fix thats kind of depending on your ability. Both sensors are under the intake manifold so obviously that needs to come off. But thats about it. not too bad. something else to think about is if it has some type of pulley bearing noise or even power steering pump noise. I have seen both of those cause the front knock sensor to go crazy.

i think you would know for sure if there was an engine mechanical issue causing the sensor to go crazy. you would hear it. something like a rod or main bearing or a lifter. stuff like that and you would know it. I say go for the sensor and make sure you check the jumper harness to the sensor.
