Hey everyone, just a quick question. My dad has an 03 z06, 6 speed, Borla catback and k&n cold air intake, I was wondering if my car would be able to keep up or possibly beat him with the future mods I just purchased. Not too for sure so I thought I'd come here and ask.

My dad's z06 :
Borla Catback
Factory tires (but brand new)
6 Speed
K&N cai


My car currently:
295 Nitto drag radials
4 speed auto, but with a better valve body and shift kit

Parts I purchased (not yet put in):
Crank/alternator pulley (25%)
Hooker longtube headers (1 3/4) no cats
Hooker y pipe no cats
High flow air box
Slp cold air induction
K&N filter
F-Body smooth bellows
Loudmouth 1 catback (I know this exhaust will be raspy, I will be putting cats on in the future)
New NGK plugs/wires (just needs them in general, not really towards performance)
Hypertech Hyperpac tuner

Don't forget to do some 'weight reduction' on your car even if it is the easy stuff like:

Washer tank is empty
Spare tire and jack removed.
Front sway bar removed.
Floor mats, cds, rear seats removed.

Make sure his tank is full of gas and yours is not more that a quarter of a tank.

Air his rear tires up to 32 lbs and lower the air pressure on your back tires accordingly to maximize adhesion.

Never hurts to be creative to gain an advantage

You should take him off the line with the Drag Radials. He will probably get you on top end, though.
Talk him into running on 1/8 mile track !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Practice, Practice, Practice...your launch!!! ...at least you will look good coming off the line. Most people aren't as good with a stick as they would like to believe...unless they race often.

If you going off a launch your gonna need one for sure. I bet even though he (z06) is stock its laying down 370+rwhp and not to mention its lighter.

W/O a stall could be a drivers race. Autos can be faster and more consistant vs. a 6 speed car..
