patriot ls6 heads & ms3 cam, clearance?

Arrow patriot ls6 heads & ms3 cam, clearance?

iam about to buy a set of heads from patriot performace and i was woundering if any one has run there ls6 heads with 64cc chambers and the 2.08 int and 1.60" exh valves with the ms3 cam and had any clearance problems on a stock ls1 bottom end? or should i got with a smaller valves also what mls head gasket would you consider for this set up thanks matt

the heads you are looking at are for 4in bore .

ok well people run ls6 heads all the time on ls1's with no problem, my concern is will there be a PTV clearance problem with the ms3 cam, or should i run a smaller valve like 2.02 or 2.055 which i might do cause a 2.08 seems to big for a stock bore ls1

You are going to have to measure to find out. Are these heads going on a stock LS1 or are they going in the "383" in your avatar?

they are goin on a stock short block ls1, as it says up top, iam deff guna check clearance when i put the cam in but iam just trying to get an idea if any one has run this combo, i think iam gunna have clearance with a 2.02 or 2.055 so thats what iam probly gunna run, thanks matt

i just pulled my motor apart with stock heads and a ms3 and i have marks on the pistons from valves hitting and i was only reving to 6700

I think what he was saying is that the 2.08 valves on a standard bore ls1 might contact the cylinder wall because it was made for a 4.0 bore not a 3.9

why not go to PRC ls6 head with the ms3 so it all comes from the same manufacturer and they can counter sink the valves for clearance in apps with thir cams...

MS3 is a big cam, I wouldn't strap that thing in without checking piston to valve or flycutting.
