Default 6.0l stroker

i have a 2004 6.0l engine that i want to stroke out. i know there are several options available as far as displacement goes. i want to turn it into a 427 but im not sure as to what stroke crank, or rod length to use. or if this particular block will handle the displacement. i dont necessarily have to have this displacement, but it would be nice to be able to badge my 67 with the 427 logo! please advise. any input would be appreciated.

^Learn to not be a dick before you post. If it's in the wrong section the mods can move it.

4.125 b x 4.0 s = 427ci. 6.125 rod You will have to sleeve the block for a 427.

Or he could do a 4.060" bore and a 4.125" stroke, but he would need a set of custom pistons designed for that much stroke in a 6.0L block.

Several of the sponsors could get you squared away. I'd talk to a machine shop, like HKE (Erik Koenig), and see what pistons would work, and if this is really something you want to do.

The issue is in the piston design. There isn't much cylinder length to work with the 4.125" stroke, so there are some compromises that have to be made so that the piston can still be suppported at BDC, but it can, and has, been done before.

We we deal with
Arias
Mahle
Probe
JE/SRP
all local companies making LS pistons, we should have no problem getting pistons for that build.
also we have Scat (also local) rotating assemblies they have a 4.125" storke crank.

Love to help, let me know if you have any question happy to answer them.

It is better to have bigger bore smaller stroke than an out of square stroke. Why? because of the cylinder squirt length and the amount that the piston sticks out the bottom of the bore at BDC.
Not that it wouldn't work, it is just that staying 4.0 stroke on stock block castings is higher durability and less oil consumption issue.
