SBC rod vs. LS1 rod
I realize that the LS1 rod has a .945" pin vs. the SBC rod's .927".
What I want to know is:
LS1 rods are even on both sides of the large end (centered) but SBC rods are larger on one side (offset). This offset would push the rod a little more one way on the pin than another which I would think, would side load the piston some. How will this offset affect things or is it anything to be worried about?

You whats funny, I have to call Eagle on Monday. I have their "LS1" rod in my motor now and they look just like a SBC rod, but I ordered new Eagle rods because of a bottom end problem and the rods I have are the SAME part number but a totally different big end. They are centered. Two different rods with the same part number.
Now for your Q. Some are using a SBC rod. My LS1 Eagle rods have the .927 pin. Yes, using an offest rod will offset the rod on the pin and may cause some side loading on the pin/ piston.
