Default How would I go about this ... ?

.
Okay, I am thinking of changing my nitrous setup around and making some sort of 200+ rwhp shot ... maybe in some sort of a 2 stage type setup.
Anyways, I'm really good with nitrous so there is no problem there, and that's the fun part besides. What I really want to do is strenthen up the engine a little bit to make sure it can handle the power (Probably 550-600+rwhp on the juice).

What would you guys suggest I do to be sure my engine won't go boom?

I have the LS6 oil pump already.

Nothing else? Stay with the stock Pistons/etc?

New pistons and rods, and kryo treat the crank. That is what I would do if you want longevity on a big shot. Bigger injector and a bosch pump swap would be a good idea also.

well yeah....forged pistons, forged rods, ARP main and head studs, and billet main caps would make an indestructible engine........but it sounded like you were trying to keep a "like stock" motor to me....

There is a guy out here in Phoenix running about 450 N/A rwhp and a 150 shot on top of that (so he hits ~600rwhp on a regular basis) with a stock bottom end (only changed to ARP rod bolts). Personally I think its asking a lot out of stock parts (the crank will take MUCH more) but thats the min I would do.

double roller timing chain is a must, my friend was running a 300 hp direct port and snapped the timing chain.
what a mess

Bare minimum if you plan to spray that reliably, I'd go with the arp rod bolts and forged pistons. The stock hypereutectics will hold up however they are brittle and at the first sign of detonantion on that big a shot they will go. If you have the money I would also look into getting forged rods and studing the mains and heads you should be able to reliably spray a 300 shot with that. As well as the aforementioned supporting mods, oil pump, timing chain.......

Sounds good ...

I have the ported ls6 oil pump, and double roller timing chain already.

Well, what I meant was I wasn't looking to go crazy spending thousands of dollars to get a crazy built engine. Basically I just want to do some "reinforcing" so to say ...
Everything you guys said sounds great though.

So it's ... Forged pistons and connecting rods, ARP main/head studs, and main caps ....

Main caps are a waste in my opinion. Who has ever had a problem with the stockers. I run close to 500 on the stock mains and plan to run a 150 shot as soon as I get the new kit in. I'm yet to see a crank or main bear issue that could result from main cap flex.

and you will probubly never see a problem with stock main caps......the stock main caps with even stock bolts (new ones) will take a lot

I would have to have A LOT of free money to spend before I would replace the stock main caps in my motor.

.
Alright then, so get rid of the main caps ... hehe.

Forged pistons, main and head studs, and possibly forged connecting rods.

Sounds good.
