Default cosmetic gasket

i have a ms3 and want to get stock 241, 243 or 799 heads. what gasket thickness do i need? also if i get some lightly worked 241s like gtps or something like that what thickness would i need. i do not want to flycut the pistons.

You need all the piston to valve clearance you can get with the MS3, so I'd say the .051" (closest to OE thickness) would be the winner. With aftermarket heads, ensure that you have right at stock free valve drop, or you'll get in a "tight" situation very quickly too!

whats the most work i can get away with doing to the 241s that will fit with the ms3? i have been thinking and when i have my tuner do more work on the car i want them to do as much as they can to the heads.

They have to stay stock valve size and no milling to clear!

so it would be better to get 243s so it bumps my compression to 10.5? then just port them a little to have them flow better. what about your worked
241s? how much do you sell them for? how much hp can i gain with it? would it work with the ms3? whats the flow numbers? and im guessing the compression ratio would be the same since i cant mill them

I'd definitely go Stage 1 LS6's or with the PRC 215's (TrickFlow 215's would do nicely as well)! Any of these options keep you in good piston to valve clearance and offer you the better flow that you want and need!

Ok thanks I'm probably going to go with the stage 1 ls6's. I already have your valvetrain kit on my heads now. So how much would the stage 1's be with only the valves no valvetrain?

They come on the heads from GM when we get them, and we just send them to keep the valves secure for shipping...it won't save money taking them off. That's all we use those springs for.
