i think id sleep better with a high press melling pump thou ^.^
For insurance purposes, I agree with replacing the pump. I can't say your application warrants a high volume or high pressure pump, but if it makes you feel better, I also don't see it hurting much.

On anOther note - this is the thread I was looking for, more good reading here.

Maximum Overlap on F-Body Stock Manifolds

Lot's of tech contained within on how and why particular valve events are chosen. Post # 42 contains the final results - a 210/222 112 110 .595/.581 cam ground with XFI/XE-R lobes and 344 HP and 339 ft-lbs on a Mustang Dyno. That's gotta be 355-365rwhp on a dynojet and 350-360 ft-lbs. You also have room to improve with better flowing heads and intake, without compromising reliabilty or drivability.

Hopefully that helps you out some - best of luck!

oil pump, front and rear main seals. check the rotating assembly while your in there. pcv is usually gone. headers are an excellent 1st bolt on and if ya got the cash h/c and valvetrain upgrade. LS1's are great but like anything else they only take so much abuse. Have fun with it, ought to be a hell of a lot of fun in a lightweight iroc.
