While staying emissions friendly (read: non-agressive cam), gains on a 383ci?
So I have to stay emissions friendly for CO. that's not super hard with a properly running car with Cats, but the one key is I can't get to aggressive with the cam - that blows over the limits every time.
On top of that, I've always wanted to build a 383 (I'd probably start with one of the TSP short blocks, add heads/etc to it, with a fast 92 intake and a ported TB). I don't know why, but I have Goal is a mid-range power build (the car is built for handling, not drag). What can I reasonably expect to get with a 383, running compression appropriate for 91/93 octane, with a non-aggressive cam, and full bolt-ons?

with the right heads you should be able to make a very torquey engine, which will be great for coming out of curves at slower speeds.
talk to Predator-Z or Pat G. about a custom cam...they'll set you right up.
it will be the BEST way to get to your goals...and still be sniffer friendly
