Default Ls2 timing cover on an Ls1?

Ok this may be a very dumb question but I don't know the answer

Ok I have an Ls1 in the car now, and will for at least the next year or two, then I will be putting an Ls2 based motor in the car. I am wanting to install a QTP timing cover, but really dont want to spend 400.00 for the Ls1 version, get an Ls2 and pay another 400.00 bucks.

So would it be possible to run a QTP Ls2 timing cover on my Ls1, and just use a Ls2 cam sensor (not hooked up) to plug the hole?

Thanks

Yep you sure can. Shouldn't be a problem at all.
