^^ I did it all for the newbies!....
I've got a friend who I'm sure has had this thought cross his mind....he also "eyeballs" the dexcool into his car - Pour some Dex, pour some water from the garden hose, pour some Dex, .....etc, etc. (Yes, I said water from the hose, lol) I feel a "garden hose" vs. Purified water debate about to come on. lol

Even eyeballing the mix 9/10 will still be more then fine unless you live in very cold climates.
Hell my ex wife didn't want to pay to fix her radiator which had a slow leak so I just had her run straight water in the spring/summer/fall so it didn't cost her anything.

The boiling point is lower (not taking the time to look up BP of antifreeze), but under pressure it's higher then 212 and years ago was used all the time just dumped in the winter (farm equipment).
Is it ideal...NO. Would I do it...NO (I would fix the leak). But it will work.

UNDER PRESSURE MOD

You do realize that just about every major racing association mandates water only in the coolant system, and they seem to do fine. The reason of course is because in an accident, it's easy to clean up water, but any kind of extra agent in the water is a pain to clean up.
Pressurize the system and the boiling point of water goes up in the 250-275 range without a problem.
