For about the same results as the afr heads and a grand cheaper get the Trickflow 220 as cast heads. Then with the grand you save get a ported Fast 92/92 combo. You may even be able to find the combo in the classifieds section as it pops up from time to time. Sell the bbk intake and tb and that'll cover your cam and most of your gaskets. As for the cam specs we need more info. Gear ratio, what kind of idle are you looking for, are you looking for a nice daily driver, weekend warrior, or street strip. I have a 396 stroker and it has a comp cam 240/254 w/ around .620 lift and 114+3 lsa. It's a VERY strong cam but is completely drivable everyday in my set up. It all depends on the tuning. I'd suggest calling a vendor for help in choosing a cam. I used ThunderRacing but there are plenty of others who would be willing to help. Your goal is easily attainable with the right parts.

OR for 1200 bucks get PRC stage 2.5 5.3 heads, and a ported fast 92, I had my cam custom specced for my STOCK ls1 shortblock and made 463 RWHP and 428 ft. lbs of torque thru my sixspeed and a ford 9"
BY the way my cam is currently for sale...

There are plenty of ways of getting to 450 rwhp with out having to do a stroker. If you have the correct set up 450 is easily attainable, even through an A4.

Well last year the crank broke in my car so a 383 stroker assembly will be added now, with the price on shipping here to newfoundland (Canada)...a fast intake combo is going to run me over $1800...thats why I say I'm going to stay with the BBk for now...

As for a cam, I was thinking of a cam with close to these specs

~230in/238ex, ~.600in/609ex, with a 112 LSA ..What do you guys think?

Any one have any opinions on RHS heads?

With close to the cam specs above and TF220 heads, a CR of about ~11.0+ and the BBk in and tb, what Hp should I be making?

Hamrdown...the car is a DD, but i also want the weekend warrior when darkness falls.
Gear ratio is 3.90, M6, I wouldn't mind a "chop" in the idle either.

FWIW, I run a 383 w/ 3.90s with a cam very close to the one you have listed. maxing out an ls6 intake (90/90 setup going on within a month, i was flat-lining from 5200 and up) on a set of afr205s (out of the box, no finishing) and i dyno above what you are looking to make. if you don't plan to spray the car, i'd look more at a 230/234. pm me if you want more info and i'd be glad to divulge more information to you in private.

i'd take the cam into the 24x/24x range but i like bigger cams, as long as they are tuned right you shouldn't have a problem. I definitly think you need a Fast setup and the TFS 220's would be nice. Alll in your budget i'm sure you can find a FAST setup in classifieds for not bad shipping (i just did over x-mas)

How do you find your cam...how does idle?...How is it on the street?.. and where in the rpm range to you find it to start pulling hard?

Welll i'm still on a 346. My cam idles at 950 for now but when i get it retuned over spring break for my new parts i'm going to lower it. It is amazing on the street, no stallls or idle problems. No real bucking or anything either unless i push it (trying to drive at 1k rpm). It probably starts around 3500-4000 and pulls hard up to 6800. Eventually i'll prolly go 383 and rev it up higher then that, might go bigger as well. This was a DD cam but now i have a truck so want a cam with lots of overlap.

I ran BBK 80mm TB on my car for about 2 weeks it was the worst Tb i ever bought. I bought it brand new and and the adj screw kept backing out on me and makeing proper adjustments were almost imposible on he thing. if your only going to go wih a 80 your better off just having our stock tb Ported.

You have the gears and the torque of a stroker so I'd go in the lower 24X range with a 114 ls and have it advanced 2-3 degrees. It will have a choppy idle but won't be hard to tune and give you problems. Really consider a different intake. My friend had a bbk intake and tb on her stroker vette and it was really holding her back above 5k like stated above. She swapped to a non ported fast 90/90 combo a picked up over 20rwhp up top, pulled the rpm's further, and gained about 12-15 rwhp down low. It's a big improvement. But if you want to keep your bbk then I would go w/ the tfs 220 as cast heads and a 234-238 on a 112+2 lsa. It'll have the chop and drive very well even with your intake. Where as the bigger cam would run outta breath. Even still if you decide to upgrade to a fast you will still pick up quite a bit. Like I said it won't take too much to hit your goal of 450rwhp in a m6.

Don't need a big cam or stroker to hit 450 wrhp on a A4.

My combo made 481/440 on Livernois Motorsports Dynojet. The intake is a ported FAST 78mm with a ported TB...cam is a custom grind from Futral Motorsports, see sig...heads are GMPP cnc LS6 243 215cc 61cc chambers with hollow and sodium filled valves, cost is approximately $2100.
